New Faculty of Technology Extension launched

H.E Gjermund Sæther cuts the tape to mark the official opening of the Faculty of Technology Extension, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda on 14th August 2009

Established in 1969, the Faculty of Technology fully opened its doors in 1970 to 26 undergraduate students on three BSc. Programmes Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. At the time, the faculty was accommodated in a building with a  total floor area of 6,000 square meters originally designed to house only the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

On 14th August 2009, The Deputy Norwegian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Gjermund Sæther, alongside then Acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Lilian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza officially opened the new extension. The New extension provides an additional 6000 square meters of space for laboratories, lecture rooms, utilities and staff offices.
