On 21st October 2011, The Nnabagereka of Buganda, Her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda Luswata, was greeted by colour, dance and unconstrained celebration as she visited Makerere University to donate computers to the Gender Mainstreaming Directorate (GMD).
As Patron of the Makerere University Female Scholarship Foundation (FSF), The Nnabagereka is a strong advocate for the train a woman, train a nation adage. As such, her donation was aimed at increasing access to learning and ICT facilities for the FSF beneficiaries.
The Nnabagereka was accompanied by Hon. Maria Kiwanuka, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Dr. William Kalema, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, FSF, Prominent Businessman, Al Hajji Habib Kagimu, Prince David Wasajja, among other Buganda Kingdom Officials.
Present at the function were The Chairperson Council-Eng. Dr. Charles Wana-Etyem, Vice Chairperson Council-Dr. Katherine Namuddu, Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner-H.E. Patrick Edwards, Members of Council, Members of the FSF Board of Trustees, Former Vice Chancellor-Prof. Livingstone Luboobi, Prominent Lawyer-Peter Mulira as well as the Management, Staff and Students of Makerere University.
